Raising Readers in Story County Awarded for Innovation
Raising Readers in Story County, episode #5 of The Hero Effect, featured Ames Reads. United Way of Story County is the backbone organization of Ames Reads and has been an integral part in highlighting their local work through The Hero Effect.
On June 16, 2017, Raising Readers in Story County accepted the Excellence in Communications Award for “Media Partnership” at the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading in Denver, Co. The Communications Expo is an opportunity for all GLR Network communities to share the most effective an innovative assets. The partnering organizations were:

– Dolphin Digital Media
– Oprah Winfrey Network
Ames, IA was also a finalist for the All-America City Award, the oldest community recognition program in the nation.
